Hi Everyone.

Well, after seeing absolutely horrible photos going around that completely butcher this sculpture... I wanted to share some pics of my Yoda I sculpted for Sideshow. I've seen the final prototype in person and they did a fantastic job finishing it.

Here's how it looked shot nicely in San Diego:

I think it looked great.

That is an excellent sculpt. I saw the painted version and they really didn't do your sculpt justice........unless of course it was all photography issues instead of paint. Regardless, your sculpt is phenomenal. :)

Thanks.

I've seen the one that is finished and it looks a million times better in person, Sideshow really did the piece justice ;) Bad photos are to blame most of the time... you always have people shooting with flashes and getting too close to the piece. You'd be surprised how photos can really ruin a nice bust.

Another point to these pieces is that Lucasfilm has a lot of control and say in the final look and the production so things can change a little (or a lot) in the translation ;)

Great as always, Howard.

I agree with you about a lot being lost in translation, on your work, and it can be very frustrating at times when you know it could look so much better but someone else has muddied your work somewhat by not understanding exactly how it should be presented.

Thanks Cyb. I think you hit the nail on the head ;)

I like these pictures of the unpainted sculpt - has a very AotC/RotS feel to the look, imo. I don't know if that was what you were aiming for, but I like it. :thumbsup

Wow yes very nice, I think it might have been the way the eyes were painted in the shot on the other thread, made Yoda look a bit phazed or dead.

Very nice, your photos here show off your sculpt far better :thumbsup

Yes, he DOES look great, Howard. Nice work. :thumbsup

Yes, really amazing... so amazing I ordered one ;), I'm dying to get it... once I receive it, I will post really nice pictures, and make a full and deep review ;)... but I'm more than sure that the final review would say something like: WHAT AN AMAZING PIECE OF ART ...

(It's a pitty that it has not got the cane, or the necklace, or even the feet... (I would even be perfect if it just had the 2 hands :( what a pity ;)... but amazing work ... I LOVE IT...

have you been contracted to make any other busts? I bet if you were, your probably not allowed to discuss it...cant wait.
