Muppet Movie Kermit's banjo

At some point, I'm going to mechanism my Kermit to play and sing Rainbows so I've drawn up his banjo. this one is from the movie, there are a different types from the various shows but this one is the movie one. Here is a 1-1 drawing if anyone else wants to do the same.

You truly are an artist and it shows you've been doing this kind of work for some time, only a pro would think this out to this level of detail...... I look forward to seeing the end product.

so now the banjo is finished I'l have to make a new Kermit to take the animatronics but for now, it can stay with my old one.

What a great build! I've been wanting to build a banjo for my MR Kermit for years! Looking to build a static one though. When I watched The Muppet Movie in 4k on Disney+, that's what got me really excited. I don't have access to any fancy wood or metal working tools however, so I'm hunting parts that might be able to be used in the build. I found a kids drum that I think is pretty close in size for the body of the banjo. I can paint the sides to look like wood. I just need to figure out the metal trim around the sides (that's where I'm at now). I love the wing nuts they used as the string tension knobs!

I used a car chrome trim and aluminum tap. You can paint the wood effect with acrylic paint Burnt umber and a little Cadmium yellow. squeeze them on to your job them with a dry brush spread them together in one single direction not fully mixing them it will get you a realistic wood grain.
