Anybody ever tackel a model of the Satellite of Love from MST3K? I just picked up the movie on dvd and would like to see a model.

Woah, woah, woah....the movie is on DVD!?!? Since when? Last I heard, the production company that owned the movie's rights wouldn't release it because they didn't think it would make enough money to cover the costs of paying the This Island Earth rights for a DVD release.

The ORGINAL movie was on DVD a long time ago, but they discontinued it. They recently put the movie back onto DVD. The orginal SOL was auctioned off during Best Brains "Sale-a-Bration" on ebay. I don't recall who has it, but it was made the same way the outside of the deathstar from star wars was. Cardboard with different model peices thrown onto it.

Is there any good info on the different SOL models and all the found parts?

I found some images of the SOL from the film.
The found parts include plastic army men, toy bugs, lizrads, some chess pieces (pawns) and lots of flies.
