My MR Yoda lightsaber grips have a tacky feel to them. They're not gooey sticky like the MR FX lightsaber grips get, but tacky like football receiver glove grips. I'm not sure if the material is supposed to be like that or not. Anyone know?
I think as they age the rubber is starting to break down. Maybe they’re a slightly different rubber than the fx sabers but the same thing is happening?
This seems to be common when the apply a rubber coating over a plastic base. You are going to have to do the same thing as all those other threads and clean away the broken down rubber off the plastic. The Way most prefer including myself is to use alcohol pads. Depending on the grips, the umber of pads needed will vary.
Wow a four year old post! I can't even remember if I cleaned them or what. It's not the same as the FX, they're not gooey, just tacky like a tack cloth.
Totally my fault! Tapatalk has started showing notifications for old posts along with actual new activity in the forums. I saw this one come up and didn’t even pay attention to the date lol
Kinda surprised we haven't had another sticky grip question in a while. For those experiencing this the answer is rubbing alcohol and elbow grease. Please research and don't post the bazillionth thread on the subject.

No because when this was posted, it was not the FX lightsaber, which everyone was having a problem with. It was the LE saber, so not necessarily the same solution.

For the record, It’s all the same problem and the same solution I had the same issue with the grips on the MR Star Trek: The Next Generation phaser grips and rubber end of a butt stock on a Mauri P90 air soft. The rubber coating that was applied over plastic breaks down and basically the alcohol strips clean the rubber which is now a goo leaving the bare plastic.I think the reason some feel more more gooey than others is based on the thickness of the rubber coating applied To the item.
It might be the same solution, but the LE saber grips look like actual rubber, not necessarily rubber coated plastic like the FX versions. I'm not sure. It feels like a strip of rubber.
