MR One Ring of Sauron, Worth Picking Up?

I've thought about picking one up ever since they hit MR's site but just never have, I noticed that these have come way down in price and wanted to hear a few reviews on it.

I was originally excited, then decided without regret to pass on it given that the whole thing isn't removable from the base.

Granted, I haven't seen one in person, and if it's as impressive as the FX Sting, I'd have to give it a second look, but for me, anyway, I expected that it would be removable. Might not make a difference to you.

For what itÂ’s worth, I really like mine. ItÂ’s not my favorite piece in my collection, but the details are tight and the light up effect is very cool. When itÂ’s off you donÂ’t even see a hint of writing, and when it lights up it looks very cool. It can be set to on, off and it also can be set to motion sensor mode so it comes on when someone walks by.

For me, the fact that the ring has the electronic elements makes up for the fact that you canÂ’t remove it off of the finger.

I have the MR Sting Sword, and the ring makes a nice companion piece. They both look good in my home theater. I got the ring, brand new, sealed for about $100 last year.

I donÂ’t think it would be worth paying the original retail of $200, but if you can get it for $100 or less and you are a fan of the films and of MRs pieces, you wonÂ’t be too disappointed.

I love MR's ring of Sauron. It looks great with sting as someone said already. I also really like Noble's gauntlet and ring. Get the MR if you can. You won't be sorry.

I picked mine up for about $125, and it is well worth the money. Yes, it is affixed to the base, but the sculpted base, the nameplate, and the oooo's and ahhhhh's from people that see it non-lit is awesome, and when I flick the switch and they see the ring light up, it's just icing on the cake. If you're a LoTR fan, this is a nice prop with a nice display case, etc. It also goes great with the UC Sauron helmet.

I LOVE mine and the lighting factor is JUST like the movie and and awesome effect. A must have for any LOTR fan.

I think that it is a GREAT replica, but I might be a little biased

FYI, we HAD to mount it permanently to the base:

1) New Line told us that was the only way they would approve it.

2) There are quite a few wires going into the base, so it had to be fixed in-place anyway to accomodate the wiring harness.

VERY cool effect. When people come over, they constantly want to play with my finger...



Get one if you can...absolutely worth it at the going price.
