Motorhead frontman Lemmy kilmister dead at 70

I am the one, Orgasmatron, the outstretched grasping hand
My image is of agony, my servants rape the land
Obsequious and arrogant, clandestine and vain
Two thousand years of misery, of torture in my name
Hypocrisy made paramount, paranoia the law
My name is called religion, sadistic, sacred *****.

I twist the truth, I rule the world, my crown is called deceit
I am the emperor of lies, you grovel at my feet
I rob you and I slaughter you, your downfall is my gain
And still you play the sycophant and revel in you pain
And all my promises are lies, all my love is hate
I am the politician, and I decide your fate

I march before a martyred world, an army for the fight
I speak of great heroic days, of victory and might
I hold a banner drenched in blood, I urge you to be brave
I lead you to your destiny, I lead you to your grave
Your bones will build my palaces, your eyes will stud my crown
For I am Mars, the god of war, and I will cut you down.

He was a great musician and all, but he was 70 for crying out loud, he lived a hard-drinking life and for years, Motorhead did 364 shows a year, only taking Christmas off. It wasn't even his lifestyle that got him, it was cancer. People die. He lived more than his share.

He for sure was one of the hardest working rock stars with a schedule like that. I remember seeing his apartment on tv, it was maybe 3 rooms if that stuffed with everything he owned since he was never around.

I recall seeing his apartment too. He said he kept it because of "rent control" :lol
He had the same rent since the 70's/80's.... Which leads me to believe all his royalty checks probably just got stored away in a bank. He seemed to live a pretty simple life.... Rocking, touring, playing his game at the Rainbow Room and drinking. He didn't sound like a guy who blew his money on the excesses in life.

Yeah other than booze i don't think he had many vices and I remember he found out he had kids so he's probably been putting away money for his family over the years. For a rock star he was always pretty modest and said what he thought. I remember John Bonam's son on tv telling a story of when he was wild and on a bender. He was causing trouble and not only did Lemmy call him out on it he called the guys in Led Zepplin to straighten him out since he'd listen to them lol. Always struck me as being an older uncle kind of thing.
