Models we'd like to have seen made

Any of the Babylon 5 ship that have not yet been made would be nice and the Starship Destiny from Stargate Universe,

They actually made a prototype for it, including box mockup. Would have been an impressive kit, but it was cancelled, after being shown at at least one trade show. A real disappointment.



Amen, brother. Goliath, the Tiger Moth, the Robot and Laputa itself, at a minimum.

For me, a plastic kit of the Blockade Runner was always a priority back in the day. Still can't understand it not happening. A Sandcrawler, too.

Have they made the B4 and earlier models?

Would be cool to have a display with them all to scale (B5 was almost 2/3rd bigger than B4, iirc)

I wouldn't be surprised if they have, but i've not seen it.

I have never seen a model made of B4 but I did see some renders of what B6 would have looked like. I would like to see a large studio scale B5 space station built I have a place for it right now.

I always wanted to build the ship in the animated movie "Starchaser: The Legend of Orin" just for kicks. The movie itself was a total ripoff of Star Wars but the ship was pretty cool. I don't know if they used computer animation but to me, I think they took an actual model, filmed it in certain scenes, and then hand-traced each frame for the animation. Was an interesting effect on a pretty cool ship:

This is what scratchbuilding is for.

Scratch building is all well and good, but who knows... if this thread gains momentum, maybe some of the model producing companies will take note and produce something that WE actually want to see instead of guessing and mass producing old stuff hoping it will sell.

Or a 1:32 scale Mega Destroyer (dune buggy) from Megaforce.

Maybe a brandname Firefox MiG-31. Or at least one that doesn't cost a hundred bucks for a miscast 1:72 scale resin kit. :rolleyes

Back in '99 at my first Wonderfest I did a diorama with a small Babylon 4 and a huge Whitestar, both scratch-built. They used to be up on Cult's site - I can get better pics tomorrow since they're part of the bookcase collection downstairs:
