You can buy items from the Junkyard right from the start. You just can't start threads there until you've posted 20 times and been a member for 45 days.

The question has been brought up: " what if there is someone else with the same name" ? And I will only say, if that is the case, I will apologize and have the thread removed.

But for now, I am leaving this up to warn people to be cautious if they are approached by Locust.

Boogeyman's right you can buy stuff in the junkyard right away although a moderator still has to approve any post you put in there. It still doesn't stop you from PMing people about the items. Also posts in the junkyard don't count toward your 20 posts. As for bringing back the window for when people can join I understand it probably helps but I for one probably still wouldn't be a member seeing I always seemed to miss that window.

I absolutly hated the window's before I was a member, as I seemed to always miss them as well. I viewed theRPF as a bunch of elitists, but that was before I understood the reasons behind the windows. I don't think it's a bad idea to reinstate the old rules, but I don't know how they would handle doing so.

Maybe some sort of weekly email newsletter that would have forum stuff as well as be able to alert people the window is open?

Yes, I emailed the mods.

I also noticed that the new members buying the Nike shoes. There are a few with post counts under 4, who have been buying yesterday and today. I know one for sure is from Australia. So maybe the mods can cross check those IDs as well with the Locus one to see if he is trying to buy shoes to scam on eBay. Is it a coincidence that the Markpoons selling for $1500 on eBay are from Australia as well???

He's been doing this for awhile I doubt he has the same IP addy. Im a mod on a few boards and whenever someone gets banned its always "Did you ban his IP". Unfortunately it never works not unless they have a static IP from there ISP provider, then even if they do all they have to do is use a proxy, which takes about 2 seconds to set up.

Dont get me wrong it never hurts to ban the IP but it rarely helps :/

Make sure you are 100% correct as to who he is and that he did scam that item from someone. I'd hate for you to get in trouble for not following through on an agreement. I mean, even if he is the person you think he is, if he actually bought that almanac from someone, you could be opening yourself up to legal issues of your own. Just sayin'.

So if he is the former scammer, who ripped people off out of thousands of dollars, and he did buy this almanac legit, I will get in trouble for not following throughout on my deal with him?:lol:lol

Oh that is funny!!!!!

What will happen? He will get a lawyer and call the police? He wants to open legal attention to all he has done?? Really ??

If he IS THE SCAM ARTIST, I say, let's bring this to legal light... There are plenty of people here who will love to see him upset over losing $46 almanac when they can come forward about the thousands they are out!!

I'm with Moviefreak on that one, don't go sending him anything in return. If anything he'll be stupid enough to step foward wanting his half of the trade. I'm just glad if you can find the person it was originally supposed to go to or who it came from to him and it can make it into the right hands. Still sad that little ***** has'nt been arrested or anything yet.

But see, you have to think rationally. He's been turned into the authorities in Australia. Nothing seems to have been done. (I don't remember seeing that he went on the run or anything so I can only assume nothing has been done down there.) And that's all well and good. But, do you really want the authorities showing up on your doorstep because of this almanac? What are you going to tell them if they do show up? "But he scammed people out of thousands of dollars worth of stuff!"? They will say "Yep that sucks for those people." while they fill out the paperwork on your wrong doing.

Two wrong don't make a right. That's my only point.

I see your point, but with all the money and props he stole, if they didn't do anything to him when what he has done us considered grand theft... A felony, then I don't think they will do anything to a $46 petty theft charge

You are missing a fact. HIS legal system is different from YOUR (and my) legal system. I'm not saying the US police/legal system would go after you. And I realize our laws are very similar to Australia's laws. But they still two different systems. So your idea is severely flawed in thinking that nothing will happen to you since they haven't done anything to him.

And don't get me wrong. I'm not a fan of the guy. I totally get the idea of the desire to screw him should the opportunity arise. I'm just saying it's a bad idea to actually do it.

His address is on it right? Just cross reference the address with 1 of the people who got scammed and you will know if it is him or not.
