milliput instead of bondo?

Okay, here is it: I have just acquired a helmet that needs some repairs. I'm not very sure of what it is made of, but looks like it is resin+fiberglass. Since I've got no access to bondo stuff, I was wondering if using milliput instead would be fine? I won't have to use a lot of it, so weight will not be a problem, but it will cover a rather large area, so I'm a bit concerned about the look. After the sanding and painting is done, do you think it might show up? And what about resistance? Do you think it'll hold up? Since I would hate to have big chunks of it going away :D
Thanks in advance for any tips!

Personally I love Milliput. Sanding and smoothness will depend on what grade you buy (color) but it all adheres well to most any surface, sands nicely and is very durable. Most epoxy putties do the same thing. I am now using JB Weld Stik epoxy putty which is the same thing as Milluput but instead of 2 seperate sticks, it is a tube of one inside the other. All you do is cut it, knead it and stick it. Mulliput gives you a bit more working time if you have to sculpt finer detail.

White Milliput is the finest. I use it for sculpting faces and uniforns in 1.35 military figures. It can be rolled so thin like pastry using a bit of talcum powder to stop it sticking. You can get it as thin as paper. Use water on a paqintbrush to mould it to shape, if you put enough on you can turn it almost into a 'wash' of epoxy and it will still harden.

Milliput is pretty expensive to be using tons of it like that... for some easy and cheap filler, mix up some baby powder with Future Floor Wax... just add the wax to to the powder until you get a thick paste and use that to fill. It's super cheap compared to using milliput or bondo and does the same job for filling holes and gaps.

I'm working on a project where some kind of Bondo esk material will be needed. Personally I hate the stuff, even the Rage Gold stuff. Where would some one acquire milliput, and does it harden strong?

Yep, stone hard, and you should be able to find some in model stores, or you could also try ebay.
