Hi Crackerjazz, the filler I am using is Selleys plastibond. It is easy to apply, sticks to anything and is very easy to sand back. The glue I use is no brand superglue I get from what we have here called the reject shop. You get ten tubes for $2.00, I use Aroldite for gluing dissimilar materials.not sure if you have the same products there.

Hi all, after maruska's, vfxsup64, and Stu's ( Eagle1) changes to the 5 foot millennium falcon plans I made adjustments to my 0.35% scale model. Her is were I am at. Comment welcome. Hopefully if all measures up I can finally start on the greebles

That was a bit of a brick wall for a time. Not wanting to move forward when I knew some measures were incorrect. I am mostly happy with the proportions now so "dressing" as you said can be done in some confidence.

I have 80% of the parts made already so its just a case of casting. Previous casting attempts have not been as successful as I had hoped. will try harder this time.

You will of course drop this into RTV and cast it up in fiberglass when your done right :lol:thumbsup:cheers

Looks killer!

Casting - its all about planning. With some forethought most of your casts can be simple gravity pours... Of course some of that forethought can (and should) result in the addition of pour stubs, and vents. I find it helps to think of the object like a hole and ask myself what orientation would this need to be in to fill this with water coming straight down without capturing any air inside. Orient the part in that way then attach pour stubs and vents to make it happen... unless it happens to have a handy flat side already :)

Then its a matter of following the directions on the resin carefully, and making sure everything is set up prior to mixing the parts.

but I'm far from a master caster -

back to the build - you're obsessed- and I dig that! Keep going!

Hi Jade, I have got myself a syringe to pressure the resin into the moulds and cut some vents to help it flow through. I have run out of resin at the moment but will try it when I the new stuff get delivered.

Hi Captain, Been lurking on your threads too.

I have continued working on the engine deck concentrating on smaller fine detail parts. Some of the casts are not 100% so I do have to fill in places, and some didn't work out at all which I am scratch building again. I am getting close to finishing this area and looking forward to moving to some side walls next.
