Yes. That exact pistol is going to Nathan Fillion->Mal Reynolds->Captain Reynolds->Captain of Serenity. He's the new owner.

Nice... it's great to see stars take such an interest in in the characters they've played. Nathan will forever be Mal to a lot of people, and I think he knows it :thumbsup .
 
The cool thing is, Nathan is perfectly happy being forever remembered as Mal. He loves Firefly, he loves the character, he loves the fans. He said he'd continue to do convetions and talk about Firefly till he's bald and too round to fit into Mal's tight pants :)

What's also neat about his buying this replica, is that he actually has his original holster from the show, and one of the rubber stunt guns.

Also, I think it's important to note that the rig is going to Nathan as an usolicited gift. He didn't actually order or buy it.

if you are, would you be the most rockin-ist person ever and ask him if he his boots on the show every said Steve Madden anywhere on them????

you rock Phil, that pistol is so amazing, i was following this thread from the beginning...its awesome that the man himself is getting it. Tell him to tell Joss to get started on another series
