Master replicas USS Enterprise power input problem

The ac adapter seems loose.
I have to wiggle it to get it to work.
I have tried two power supplies and get the same results. so I dont think its a short in the cable.
the screw is secure and tight holding the female barrel for the power on the base.

anyone else have this problem?
is there an easy solution?

Are these replacement adapters or the original adapters. It may have the wrong mm input on the adapter so it’s not making ground

well, I thought one was the original and the other is a replacement.
do you know the correct barrel measurement?

I do not as I am away from my collection but I had to buy a replacement so I will see if I can remember where I bought it

I bought a replacement on Amazon DVE DV-1220R it’s a 12VDC 200mA regulated replacement with a 5.5 mm +ve tip.

Worked great for me your mileage may vary. GC

If you have a multimeter it’s pretty easy to determine if the adapter is putting out enough volts. Simply set the meter to volts and look for the diagram label or embossed imprint to determine what’s ground and what’s positive. Plenty of YouTube videos on how to do this. Hope this helps. The bad ground would be best guess. GC

the power is there . it does work. so I dont thin I need to test with a multi meter.
the barrel size 5.5 mm.
its just loose, and sometimes dosent work, I knew to tighten the nutthat holds the female jack on the base. but that wasnt loose.

I found this video. I think this maybe my problem. just need to time to give it a try.
I seem to be the only one with this paricular problem on this replica.
