Master Replicas releasing something on 1-19-06

I heard it was a replica Princess Leia "bun" ANH wig. They're going to release the "Leia Trilogy hairstyle" collectible line.

It looks like they took the Mace mini and sprayed it with testor's dull-cote - a hair on the boring side. Especially if you already have the nicer version of the Mace. A Qui Gon mini would've been tons better. I'd have ordered the kit for that alone.

Wasn't there another thread about this, in which the item that MR was scheduled to release today was described as "Studio Scale"?

Is the 2006 Collector's Society Membership Kit really the big release they were hyping for today? If so, it is a major letdown. :unsure

MR never said that the 19th was going to be the release of a studio scale, but their newsletter said the next studio scale model was "waiting in the wings". When MR announced they'd have something new on the 19th, people assumed it was the YWing studio scale. And best yet, some people were reading the calendar entry on MR's blog and actually assuming MR would release Bill and Ted replicas (based on the San Dimas High reference) or Lost replicas (based on the numbers replicas).

I see. Thanks for clearing this up for me.

I got that message from MR, too. But when I saw the thread in which people were excited about an MR studio scale release on 01/19, I figured they must know something I didn't.

Looks as if all that anticipation was based on a misunderstanding. :unsure
