Mark 17 Heartbreaker Helmet and suit

Hey guys...
I have FINISHED modeling the helmet!!! StreetSoul has finished the unfold for all of you Peppers. The foam unfold is going right now and will be up for you as soon as it is done.

New announcement.... I have had a bunch of requests from people wishing to 3d print this model. I was originally reluctant, due to many concerns but I have decided to release a STL file of this helmet. Please keep in mind that this is still my artwork, and I do not grant permission to anyone to make this helmet, or other parts of the suit I am making, for sale unless you physically construct it yourself via foam or pep. To just print my file and then turn around and sell it and not share some of the profits of my hard work would be just wrong... I am sorry if this offends you, I am just trying to be sensible and honest. This is the RPF not Napster... (hahaha)

Also the STL file has not been scaled to fit anyone specifically. Therefore You will need to make sure that you take care of this so that it is an appropriate size for whatever your application is. I AM VERY INTERESTED IN PURCHASING/RECEIVING A DONATION OF A 3D PRINT OF THIS MODEL. So if you make one please let me know as I would love to have one in my classroom, and for my own personal uses.

I will be starting the chest next and as it becomes available it will be posted for you guys as well. This is definitely a huge labor of love so I hope you guys enjoy my work.

Looks really good so far! Say you go with the lego model/you guess a little of the back, Would it be easy to edit once better reference pictures are available? Or is it not worth the effort?

Edit: Maybe use the back of the iron patriot helmet? the shape/parts of the helm look quite similar to the heart breaker.

I am just hoping someone has found a pic out there on the net that I haven't. I am going to finish this with or without it. But it would be really awesome to have this done before the movie hits!!!!

I would imagine this rear view is pretty close to what the movie suit will be like, maybe take the layout from the lego image and apply the styling and forms etc from the screenshots etc?

Thanx everybody for the encouragement!!! This is definitely the suit that I am the most excited about from IM 3!!! Sorry that I wasn't on yesterday I was at home sick.

I am back to work today and so I will see how much of the helmet I can flesh out.

To answer any questions that i have gotten so far.... Yes I will make this file available to all for free as a PDO. I have utilized so many other peoples files from this page I feel it is only fitting to add my piece to the pie as well.

(for example) I am currently building the entire Mark 3 from Dancing Fool right now.

very nice work, here is a pic I took from the trailer that kind of shows the back of the head. it looks like the faceplate that wraps over the top has a flat at the back maybe a vent or something

I had Open lab time with my students tonight so i got a little extra time to work on the helmet. It is still a WIP but here is what it looks like so far. (not to bad for only two days worth of work on it)

That headband kinda, sorta reminds me of the headpiece Lobot had in Star Wars ESB

But really, great looking build so far!
