Malcolm Reynolds pistol

First off, sorry for asking this. I'm sure this has been asked to death but most of the things i've researched on here a good few years old.

I'm after Mal's pistol, but I can only seem to find the QMX one, and can't buy anything outside the UK due to customs but I found a UK seller. After researching a bit to see if I should build one or buy the QMX one i'm slightly torn. The QMX doesn't seem that great but it'd give me a starting point. I've heard of Sidkit but i'm sure he/she doesn't sell the kit anymore. Is there another option or do I go ahead with the QMX pistol?

Thanks!

Right now QmX is probably your only option for an accurate pistol. You can use the search and find info on all of the versions that were available but QmX is the only one besides recasts that you can get off the shelf. You might be able to snag something by putting up a WTB thread in the junkyard when you have access to do that

With Sidario passing away a few years back, QMx will be your only licensed source of a Mal pistol. Unless you have deep pockets and can convince someone to part with their Model 47 or 47A. They are metal and wood and very nice. Who am I kidding, they're ruttin' awesome.

Failing that, someone may have Phillipes resin cast, which were quite nice.

You could also pop over to Fireflyprops.net and ask around. Someone might have one they're willing to part with.

Ah, have no idea that Sidario had passed. Was speaking to a friend and he mentioned that I could look for a Pepakura model to make and start from there but haven't had a chance to look around. If I can't find anything chances are i'll go ahead with the QMX model and take it from there really!
