Luke Skywalker ESB Lightsaber Part

Hi, Quick question to anybody that may know. Has anybody ever been able to successfully find the computer card connector piece that was inserted into the middle clamp of the Luke ESB Saber? I know the parts of starwars site says it's a HP-44 bus type computer card edge connector. I been looking all over for one of these but cannot ever find one. Does anybody know if anybody else on this forum has ever found one and if so, where? Thankyou

I have one on mine. Don't remember where I got it though. Did you try Ebay or some vintage computer parts store or something maybe?

The correct part is hard to find, but I had pretty good luck trimming down the edge connector from an overstock copy of Duck Hunt.

A ex coworker of mine who got me into this hobby showed me one 15 years ago uncut on the board, he said it was really hard to find back then, the part number above sounds about right, i think the bay would be the best place.

Hi there,

I finally got my hands on a real card connector from another member here last year ... though it has the rounded golden fingers ... it's still a vintage real part and that's what counts for me.

cool boards here. I also noticed that some vintage calculator boards also have those circuits. Wouldn't surprise me if they also used a calculator as source as well as they did it for the TI bubble strips. I would tip for a Texas Instruments or a Sanyo model.

I hate the fact I saw a bunch of these boards hit the dumpster. Sad I couldn't get to them in time....gone.

figured I'd get mine up here... thanks to Nexus 6 for his extra...

Still need to attach the grips... allll good to go, but for my lack of proper screws. I really don't know what to use. Rivets? screws? what screw head? Thought I found some good screws, but the threading was crazy thick... couldn't put holes that big when I've seen how small the holes left from the ESB are on the Vader ROTJ...

Also need a Kobold. Now that this part is vintage... and the extra red button (Thanks Scott Jua), I feel replica Kobold is just not gonna do it.

The beat up/used look of this saber is making it one of my faves... originally it bothered me how battered up it was. Now it sits next to my shiny ANH and it looks awesome. Can't recommend enough a beat to hell hilt.

I know its not 100% but for a modern day equivalent, I don't think its too horrible:

I end up putting a little bit of solder on the thinner parts of the leads and I end up with something like this; here is one of them cut down on my Luke ROTJ V2 lightsaber:






If you don't mind paying $28 plus shipping, I think it works pretty well considering I don't know of any other alternatives right now.
