LOTR - The One Ring

There's so many versions of this... which is the best version (licenced or otherwise)?...

:)

Well, I think the best one would be from Jens Hensen since they're the ones who made the rings for the movie :)

Here's a link to their store: http://www.jenshansen.com/

They do come at a hefty price though. If you want to save, I would recommend getting their silver sterling one and have it gold plated by them.

Also, Hecubus has started an interest thread for regular and Sauron-size replicas of the One Ring which will be made out of bronze and then gold plated.

To be realistic, it would be in the best interest for you to wait for the one that will come with the commitment that will only end when death comes knocking.

While it's certainly not unreasonable to be critical of the slightest variation in arc radii, to do so would be maintaining a standard that grossly surpasses all the remaining facets of this prop hobby. If you're willing to settle for a saber replica that costs hundreds with ridiculously obvious differences in detail noticeable at a distance, you should be able to comfortably settle for any half round profile that is nearly indistinguishable from the movie prop at close inspection.

these are tough since SA could be either blank or with elvish lettering, and i dont know about you, but to me, i cant really tell the diff between real and gold plated

I just got one of these: it's amazing. Can't get more accurate, either. If you want a gold plated sterling, it won't set you back as much as solid gold, but it detracts from the accuracy. I bought a sterling one for my wedding band when I get hitched next Halloween!

From what I read on Jens' site, the ring will have his hallmark and signature inside The Ring. I think if you are paying such a price for an accurate Ring, then that would detract from the whole piece.

You can get it without any markings at all, just request that and they make it happen. I've had one in my hands made by them, zero markings, just like the film version.

I have a size 10 Jens Hansen One Ring that I am trying to sell. It has been sitting in its box since I bought it 3 years ago. It does have the hallmark on it, but I am willing to listen to some offers. I can throw in a movie style chain also. It is a much cheaper alternative than buying from their site. PM me if interested.
