More progress this weekend - Hand of Saruman, Eye of Sauron and the Tree of Gondor.

Still a ways to go on these, but I really like the way the carved and contoured tree turned out.

Thanks, I went with the John Howe / Weta version of the eye. Still thinking of going with a metal look and add some rivets and metal straps on the outside corners. The tree was rather difficult and mostly done with a sharp x-acto knife and a lot of hand sanding. I'm still undecided on the oval or shield shape for Gondor though.

Seems like it would give it some 'real world' texture. Mordor must have had a pretty corrosive atmosphere.

Very slow on progress as there has been issues with casting and leaching resin. I did manage to get a good casting of the LOTR plaque, Prancing Pony (after the 3rd attempt!) and another Green dragon to further distress and add wood grain. Still need to mold that one again as well.

I used gold leaf on the letter and rub'n'buff on the boarder

Just finished doing some weathering on this today and may to a bit more.
