Looking to acquire Back to the future 2 jacket, options/opinions?

Oh thanks I didn't know
I have one of his as I couldn't afford Markpoon's, but to be honest, it looks beautiful! I really don't regret buying from him!
Do you wear it out or just display it?
I have bought the HC version. It was not worth the price at all. The sleeves are like paper. The vest portion was way too long and again paper thin. Instead I made a quick Jacket out of the draw liner fabric put onto a grey jacket and 3D printed all the plastic parts. It was alright but still better than the HC. I want to make a better one. I want to use a member only jacket but can't find one in grey that isn't 75 dollars.

I didn't wear it out yet, because I didn't have the occasion x)! But it is really comfortable! Even though it's not 100% screen accurate in terms of materials, I think the shape is great, and less straight than markpoons.

@thatguyz
Burlington Coat Factory often have Member's Only jackets for around $40-$50. Cloth or Vinyl. If you are near one.

I had the HC jacket too. That's why I don't like cloth sleeves. Besides how they look, they are fiddly to extend and retract. Vinyl sleeves operate quicker and better.

If accuracy isn't too much of a problem and you want a lower price, you should think about getting the new HC jacket that comes out on September 16th.

I got a photo of the gigantic roll of liner they have at Walmart

This was the only color they had, they do have the smaller rolls but those would need two pieces for the back and would leave a seam

It is a checkered pattern so the edge of the seam is corrugated for the lack of a better term.

If you align and glue well, there shouldn't be much to see. It's not like cloth or silicon panels where you have a long straight line. You could maybe by a small trimming of that big roll and experiment cutting and lining it up. See how you like it.

I glued+stitched one of my jackets with the side and back seams, with the red mat, it did stick out to my eyes, but it did look nice in distance photos

The new HC jacket has the following quote in the description:

  • Auto-adjusting, auto-drying replica box attached to jackets waist, box lights up and says 2 different movie quotes

Pretty cool it has the lights and sound board already installed. I'm thinking of getting one with their discount that ends today

HC Officially Licensed Marty 2015 Jacket. Most realistic produced yet!

Haven't seen a post on this yet. Looks like HalloweenCostumes did a pretty amazing job recreating the 2015 Marty Jacket. I mean, there are certainly better reproductions out there, but for FAR more money! This thing is pretty cool, plus it has a sound board! Just put in my order, what do you guys think of it?

That actually looks pretty good!

Did not even see that. I wonder how loud it is.

Apparently it's in stock as well. If anyone gets one quickly, please let us know about the sizing.

I am pondering a medium or a large.

I have emailed them about if the circumference of the arms changes with the size of the jacket. They said it does and they will give me the circumferences of size small and the biggest one they have. I will probably also ask Markpoon what the measurements of his jacket are as well because they look to be very close and the arms don't change with the sizes of the jacket.

I'm mostly wondering if the chest measurement they give is the jacket or the expected wearer.

S - 42"
M - 44"
L - 48"
XL - 53"

All the models are a little long, they didn't go for the varsity-style waistline. Would be nice if they'd post more measurements too, like shoulder to shoulder.

There are a few posts on this very thread about the new HC jacket. I also ordered one. As soon as I seen it had the sound effects as well I was sold! It might not be the most screen accurate jacket but to me looks like the best base for a project or if you're not fussed just wearing as is

I don't think they mentioned it in the description before they had it up for sale cause I checked pre and post stock. Picked one up so have to see how good it is in person. I ordered large but Im usually extra large in size. It think the large will be generous enough according to their measurements

I got a 42 chest, usually that's a large. But in these things....who knows? I'll probably order a medium and hope it doesn't look too-slim.

@Rickhemingway
It would be nice to not have to deal with adding that. I just wonder how loud it will really be. I need it audible at conventions.

Got mine to day in the UK , I wish this had been out a long time ago it would have saved me A LOT of trouble. Its not without its issues. The sizing is a bit small but my main gripe is that the red fabric is wrong and if they have gone to the trouble of making it look like that rubber mat people use on diy jackets why not make it look like the real stuff , i wonder if they actually looked at a diy jacket using that fabric and thought that was how the real one was !.. everything else is pretty much spot on for what it is.
