I'm new to sewing and such, but I do cosplay and make props and such (though none of noteworthy quality). I'm looking into doing something new with new materials. The DC fans may be a big help here.
In Man of Steel, there's Kryptonian called Nam-Ek who fights alongside Faora to try to beat superman in Smallville. He's the realy big one at the bottom.

Now in man of steel, the kryptonians all wear these bodysuits with their house symbol on them, and thankfully, there's art of what Nam-ek's looks like. I'm tempted to try to make a black version of the superman bodysuit with Nam-Ek's symbol instead, but I need some advice on the texturing of the suit. Im not sure what kind of material to work with, or how to make the framed parts of the suit. I assume there's padding inside the suit as standard of a lot of modern superhero films, so that helps the bulking part, but I want to capture the feel of the suit itself. Any advice?
