Looking for tips on spray painting

Either I pick up some useful tricks of the trade here... or just end up kicking myself when I see how simple the solution is. :lol

What's the best way to spray paint an object when one coat needs to be applied on all surfaces? I have a couple of phaser kits that are one piece, so there are no surfaces that can be used to hang/mount the piece from. My initial thought is to paint one side, let it dry and then flip it over and paint the bottom, but I wasn't sure if this will result in an uneven finish...

Just make sure to do many light coats.

Make sure it's warm and well shaken.
Cold paint doesn't give a very good finish.

You can place it in a container of warm water for a few minutes.
Do not boil the water and do not do this on the stove.
