Looking for bow and quiver for Merida costume..

I am part of the 501st legion based in Indiana and each year we have a group of us that go to DragonCon. Last year a bunch of the guys decided to do Disney princesses and I was supposed to be Belle from Beauty and the beast, but didn't get my costume together in time.

This year I am doing Merida from Brave. I already have the dress and cape being ,ade, but I am drawing a blank on a bow and quiver. I know you prop masters can come up with some good ideas, so let me have them. I am not wanting to spend alot of money on this, but also don't want some cheap looking thing either.

In case some of you missed it I attached a photo of our guys at DC last year. This was Saturday night at the Marriott..

A wood recurve bow can be had for pretty cheap; especially if you're not looking for a quality bow.

you might check out some pawn shops in your area.......they often have some cheap bows that would work.

Hi Darth Clayton,

If you're going for screen accuracy, you'll want to look for a wood reflex bow. If you look at pictures of the bow carefully, you'll see that it doesn't just curve out on the edges, it curves in, in the middle.

Ebay has a couple that would work for you, but you have to search recurve because they don't come up under reflex. If it helps, the reflex bow is a chinese style, not scottish. I think the designers chose it because it was primarily used for shooting from horseback.
