Looking for a Stormtrooper helmet

hello!
I bet this is asked all the time, but I'm looking for a stormtrooper helmet. I'm looking for one that is not to expensive, one that I can throw around and not worry about it being "Signature, deluxe, one of a kinda, etc"

I would like one that looks good, not a skinny face like I've seen some, and I would like it wearable. I don't mind if its a fan made kit that I need to make myself, or if its already pre-made.

Just:
- low cost
- wearable by adult
- looks good

Thank you for your time and looking forward to your response! :)

aiiieeeeeee - talk abt a potentialy problematic question mate
the skinny ones you talk abt are the don post lids - cheap vinly gave em a real skinny look. avoid like the palague; unless u are just wanting to fool around

most value for money, looks reasonable and is considerd a decent lid is the Master Replica Collectors edition, also known as the MRCE. there are a few critiques of it by stormtroper affiencienado's. They go for abt $100-120 bucks.

the other option is the FX - used to be a old work horse, but with lots of nicer options now to the TK fanatics; lots of people sellin off their old kits. Its a bit large and boble headed though.

Dont think you will get a half decent any cheaper than that. Most fanmades start at $150 and upwards. And still need construction, and some will require paiting up as well.

check out http://forum.whitearmor.net/index.php? n general

and this thread in particular - http://forum.whitearmor.net/index.php?showtopic=7499 (these lids are all over $200 btw)

Have a look at Shepperton Design Studios, its UK based and has two versions of the helmet. The 1st been the Stunt helmet and the second been the Hero helmet. He isn't the cheapest of the bunch but the quality of the build and the delivery is very good.

Seriously? The SDS is probably the most expensive TK around...there are far less expensive and better fan-mades out there.

Given your requirements I's say go for the Master Replicas "CE" helmet

Its cheap, rugged, reasonably accurate and widely available since its licensed

If you look I did say it isn't the cheapest around but worth a look. But the MR Stormtrooper helmet is a cool piece of kit. :)

The guy said he doesnt want the 'skinny face' helmet...which is the MRCE...and then half of the posters suggest it! lol. :rolleyes

i dont think he was talkin about the MRCE type of skinny, it is very similar to film helmets. I think he was talkin about some of the softer vinyl Don Post helmets that have a very skinny profile.

The MRCE is skinny faced though, and the frown and ears are horrible.

Accurate.

MRCE.

Just spend the extra $20-30 bucks and get the right one the first time.

Msngpcs - Several people have mentioned the MR because it fits his requirements. Its cheap and pretty rugged as well.

I dont know of this "Terrell" - is it a legitimate helmet of just another blatant recast? Does he deliver to plan or just promises?

If he wants an accurate helmet I'd tell him to go and get a TE2. However his budget is limited and he wants one he can throw around. Hence the MR :rolleyes

MRCE skinny faced?

THIS is skinny faced!:

if u want to critisize the MRCE - why stop at the ears and frown?
its overall symmetry is not right, nose is too broad, no screws in the ear caps, tube stripes are wrong colour and width, hovi mikes could be better, theres that very visible line at the lower half of the lid. Kinda of what original poster was lookin for his purpose.

but then again - choice of buying a TK lid is very much dependent on what you plan on using it for. I still say MRCE cos its cheap, cheerful, 'ready to use straight out of box', sturdy and still recognisable as a half decent lid.

is it like a screen used lid - nah.....

Terrel/ATA lids, despite being only a bit more, will require some assembly, paints, they are pretty small and are made of thinner material (compared to the MRCE anyways, they are usually 060 to 093 thickness plastics?).

Like I said in my previous post go to the FISD and look...
He delivers, no waiting for months on end like some. TE2 has given him his 'blessing'. Whatever than means. You might know it as ATA.
It's accurate and not much more than a MRCE, hence my suggestion.
and here's a eye roll right back at you, "mate". :rolleyes

Yeah, I was only pointing out the most obvious things wrong with it. :)
