Hi All..

I got a PL Enterprise 1701A for Christmas.

I love this kit and want to do it up right. I searched the archives for any reference to an available light kit but came up empty. Lots of pics of finished kits though. They will definetly help. I was over a Federation Models and Don's Light & Magic and gound a few things but no complete light kits. I have NO experience in lighting kits but the sheer size of this thing will make it easier IMHO. Any help or link would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks..

Evan

I have one of these kits coming as well, and I wanted to do the same thing. My search has only led to one source that seems useful. It is an explanation of the lighting system used on a larger (46 inch) Garage kit of the same ship, but it seems like the same idea would work. Although it still meems a bit technical for a smuck like me. It was at...

Might I direct you here as well for adding more even more detail to the kit:

Or more directly to the source:

While the kit was designed with lighting in mind, no one person (company) that I am aware of has come forward with a complete lighting kit. There is one guy that does fantastic lighting control module work for the navigation, formation lights, and torpedo tubes. His name is James Roberts and he can be contacted thru the email on the TM Insider Forum above. Go there, then click on the 'Shiney Objects' section on the main page and you will see his username there of jwrjr. I am not sure if he is a member here or not, but he can definately set you up with some fantastic light control circuits. He can even set up a complete lighting sytem that will include all LEDs and wiring to drop into the model to light windows and warp engines.

I too have the refit kit and want to really do it up as well as possible, including lights. But like you Evan have little to no skill with modeling electronics.

At SSM there is a member who is putting together a full and complete kit. He said it would be about $300 or so but would have EVERYTHING. Here is his comment recently:

And his site: http://www.trekmodeler.com/

As it'll take me probably a year or more to even get close to getting the model done I can be patient.

Do what Thomas said and contact JWJR. He lives about 5 miles from me and I've had his lights and sound in a proton pack, models and other doodads for years. He really knows his stuff. He already hit me up for lighting my soon-to-be built "A". :D

anyone know of the website that sold some accessories for this ship, came across it awhile ago, but cant find the link now. thank you
