Legend of Zelda Rupees?

Just throwing an idea out for the masses... this is NOT an official interest thread.

I was browsing through ebay and saw a set of life size Rupees from the Legend of Zelda (poorly made, of course), but I thought how cool it would be if someone here decided to make these in some form (maybe crystal? Hydin, I'm looking at you :lol)

I know there are Zelda fans out there... anyone think this is a good idea if the price/quality is right?

I don't know if anybody (even Zelda fans) would recognize them... Too "generic" looking gems I think...
It would be a nice object, but not the most "memorable" one from the games...
Just my 2c:)

Of course, you could get Ramiel to redesign them, and then cast them, and put "Limited Edition" in the title and sell them for 400$ plus shipping.

That is what he and I are doing with the "Aliens left over drool" special edition LIMITED to 1000 pieces piece we are making. They will be small containters filled with the good that the Aliens drooled everywhere while chasing the Colonial Marines in Aliens.

Now, its a REPLICA, but screen accurate goo. SO, that makes it even MORE expensive.

And of course, Ramiel and I are giving a 2% discount to all RPF members with a post count of 13,000 or more.

Did that joke go over well?
:lol

As someone who is a Legend of Zelda costumer myself... although I could recognize a rupee (and most likely geek out about it), I personally don't feel as great an attachment to rupees... as say, the master sword, ocarina of time, or other magic items. (Fairy in a bottle? LonLon Milk?)
Although it's a fun thing to "wip out" at a convention, it's just not as practical as say, the ocarina. (particularly to try and keep track of carrying around) Link really doesn't have *that* many places to hold items anyway :p

Lol, on topic: here's a con pic of me as Link

Zelda fan here, as well, and I don't think they'll look very unique and recognised as rupees. Good idea, though. Now, an accurate Ocarina of Time replica? That would rock.

Id second an Ocarina of time replica!
Nice idea like many have said, about the rupees, but a generic crystal is a generic crystal...

Wow, that is the single best Link costume I have ever seen!

AMAZING!

You could totally win some costume contests with that one!

Yeah, and that is NOT the best photo of him with that costume...;)

A costume that also suits you PERFECTLY! You make a GREAT Link Tsuyosa!:thumbsup

If someone made some accurate rupees, I'd buy 'em! What would be sweet is, a colored inner pupee with a clear outer shell, kinda like a heart container. Thats what the rupees from Twilight look like to me.:D

P.S. A heart container would also be awesome!

Thats a GREAT costume... fantastic!

its funny that MR has the Nintendo license, yet they're not planning on making an accurate master sword, hylian shield, heart container, hookshot, etc... IIRC, they ARE making an ocarina... so that's a plus...

I understand what you mean, and in that pic it does look toy like. But my FX Sting looks pretty realistic and has some nice heft to it.

As for the Master Sword, I feel the worst thing about it is the hilt looks like plastic, I'd prefer to see something like an anodized blue or something that looks like metal. And maybe real teal coloured leather wrapping the handle. I'd like to see about getting one of these and maybe making the changes myself. That's if and when they put it out (what ever happened to this company? - arbitrary question!)

yeah... I think the Corgi merger has forced MR into becoming a toy company rather than a replica prop company... so sad...

It shoots magic beams of Gannon-death. I'd say that's a pretty good weapon!

Hehe, I think, "reflects gannons' shooting beams of gannon-death back at him" is more accurate :love

lol, but yeah, thanks guys. Sorry I hijacked a bit, haha!
