You know what? For a TV show, LotS has some good-looking props. Anybody know what the first three are?

The maps were used to track the seeker and the 'tooth' looking one is the necklace Richard has from his father. (hope thats what you are refering to)

Yep! Thanks!

I take it the light on the map located the Seeker? Haven't seen enough episodes to know. Nice enough map.

Correct. That episode featured a plot that I don't believe was ever in the books. A map-maker (played by Sam Raimi's brother Ted Raimi, AKA "Joxer the Magnificent" from Hercules and Xena! :)) was able to take an item of Richard's (the tooth pendant from his father, which the bad guys somehow managed to get ahold of) and use that item to make magic ink. When he produced a map with that ink, the map would show a bright, glowing dot indicating where Richard was. The villains of the episode were mercenaries and trackers that Lord Darken Rahl had employed to locate the Seeker and capture him. So they attempted to use these magic maps to track him down.

Don't ask me how you would recreate the prop maps as anything other than just paper maps. The glowing dot would have been added in post-production by the visual effects team.

If you display the map inside a thick frame you could add moving LED lights behind itso that it looks like it move's around.

Ted Raimi will be back in season 2 as the map-maker.

mmm yes a few LED in the back at different locations would make it look like the target was moving

I have not been able to get a good look at it but, is the sword of truth in this show just a Kit Rae sword of Valen?
Actually, on a close comparison, it isn't quite the same, but very similar. The blade and the guard have the same shape, and the design in the cross-guard is similar, but not identical. Also, the pommel is different, and the Sword of Truth is engraved.
Based off of image comparisons here: http://mutlipleverseslots.com/gallery1/displayimage.php?album=4&pos=10
and here: http://www.heavenlyswords.com/product.php?productid=16309

Hope this makes it less disappointing! At least it isn't just a bought sword after all.

Darn it, Montagar! And you'd had my hopes up that someone'd done another great replica! :)

Hi All-
I'm interested in making some replica agiels. Anyone have experience making them?

I am thinking the material of construction should be wood. I was going to try to contact a local woodturner / lathe craftsman. If I can get a design together, I'd like a price to turn it down. After that, I was going to try and duplicate the markings by hand, and do a final stain on the wood (deep red color.)

Any help getting started would be much appreciated! I just found these forums, and they've been a huge help. I love the show, and am interested in the costume for the Mord'Sith.

Thanks!
