Hokey smokes, dude. I would've thought that was a b/w photo of Ledger if it had been a bust (as opposed to just a head on a pipe).

Amazing likeness. :thumbsup :thumbsup

Damn! That last picture really looks good.:thumbsup
It's nice to see him as something other than the Joker.

Have to say you have done a great job.. As someone that knew him personally from back in his Home & Away years, it brought a smile to my face seeing his likeness, as swgeek said, away from the Joker.. Bravo!

Much thanks all.
this actually is a joker commision. But... along the way it occured to me that going from 0 to extreme joker was a mistake. Even if I did a good job of him as the joker, I would be missing out if i didn't just get away from the joker thing for a while and get to know him. So I stopped watching the Dark Knight altogether, and started watching interviews. and no still pictures. And as a result of that, I started getting a mental image of him memorized, and then I could sculpt him without constantly refering to some picture, just right off the top of my head. This method seems to work the best for me, cause when I do stare a pictures, I start to sculpt from a single camera lens point of view, and I sculpt some photo, not the person.
So, I will do the joker, but I will also sculpt him in a variety of facial poses. Some extreme, some not so extreme.
Ya, the title isn't very discriptive, but I just want the work to do the talking, no explination, just here it is.

You...I love the method behind your madness. All those years ago when You and Causey had that mini exhibition, you and I talked about your "method" of study and I've never forgotten it. This is just another example of how you approach your work and I love how you've started us from the beginning this time.
