Last Halloween, I dyed a white one I found on eBay for about $4 bucks, shipped. It was from a restaurant supply place.
I overdid the blood on mine, but am happy overall with the results.
While doing research using the DVD of the movie, sometimes the apron looks cloth -- but in the night scenes, it appears a bit shiny, like it's made out of rubber or something. I stuck with a cloth one.

I have an extra one laying around the house in a box. I made 2 several years ago and never used the other one. I made a complete screen accurate costume several years back. This is from the original 74 movie. I started with a roll of tan fabric and took it to a seamstress who made 2 out of the amount of fabric I bought. I dyed both of them to a yellowish color and then airbrushed them with browns and black to weather them. I put a little bit of fake blood splatter on them but if you notice in the movie there wasn't a whole lot of blood on them. Let me know if you'd be interested in it. It's just sitting and I supposed I could part ways with it. If you're interested I could take a picture of it or with the costume on.
