Labyrinth Goblin King help needed

Hey, guys!

I've been inspired to throw together a quick Goblin King costume, since we have a red and white striped jumper for my new baby boy.. does anyone have any tips on where to find/make inexpensive (this is key) costume elements? What kind of white shirt is he wearing?

Many thanks for any help or resources you can provide.

You'd probably find it cheaper at one of those chain Halloween costume shops that they always have at malls during this time of the year.

Honestly, the best place to shop for Jareth clothing quickly...is the women's department. You'd probably find a frilly white shirt and leggings easily. Its not going to be 100% accurate, but you won't get that anyway for fast and cheap.

Let me try something a little more specific.

I've found this wig, here: http://cosworx.com/product.php?productid=16459&cat=0&page=1

Does anyone know where I can find something similar, for cheaper?

Seriously? Cheaper than a $30.00 wig? Good luck. That is a cheap wig. You may get off $19.99 at Party City, but that one you found is pretty good stylewise (from memory), and you really won't get much cheaper.

However, Iycis has probably given you the best advice short of eBay. Women's sections. Check women's sections in thrift stores for those frilly 70s blouses. Payless shoes for the boots if you can't find them in thrift stores. The size conversion from men to women is 1.5... So if you wear a 10, you wear a women's 11.5.

Yup. Oh, I do have a pair of pointy-toed boots. :D They don't come up to my knees, but I can modify a costume boot to extend, I'm sure.

I'm getting a little static from the wife, as we don't have any money at the moment. Hence my hope for a cheaper version of what is already a cheap wig. If I can't get the wig, I'm not going to bother with anything else, as that just makes the whole costume. Yeah, I'm hoping for a $14-19 wig or even this one on sale.

I'm sad.. The website that sells the wig I wanted seems to be no more. :/ if anyone finds a suitable wig, I'd love to know about it.

I did a really quick and cheap Jarred the other year using mostly stuff I had and an 80's rock star style wig from a cheap costume place that I re-styled. Sure it wasn't all that accurate but it worked.

If I'd had the ba... um nerve I might have gone for the tights-and-package look. But there were little kids present... and it was cold :lol
The non-costume bits I'm wearing are 'cos it was at my archery club.

Just ordered the 30? Wig for a lifesize jareth but im working on. Ill let you know how the quality is. If you type in rocker wig blonde on ebay you'll find something close for less than 20$

Amphigory sells a similar wig for cheaper:
Spiked wig - cheaper. Fun punky/spiked wig in fun colors
I've used this as a base wig before. The quality isn't great, but it might be fine for your purposes. The fibers are cheaper and the wefts in the back are spaced about an inch apart.

They also have this one, which I believe is the same wig as Cosworx:
Punky Wig - Wild Spiked wig

I highly recommend Amphigory as a seller, but they do take a little longer to ship 9like 2 weeks)

Edit: I should add that I'm guessing which wig you were looking at on Cosworx since the link 404's when I click on it. Apologies if I'm guessing wrong
