I've read a lot of posts on this forum that warn fellow RPFers about other members who sell inferior products or simply don't follow through. While I certainly appreciate these posts and understand why they need to be written, I thought I'd post a short note that praises a well-known board member for providing exceptional customer service.
His board name is MATSUO, and he is known for offering very nice replicas of the various pistols and rifles from the new Battlestar Galactica series.
The specifics of my transaction are not important. What is important is that Matsuo recently sent me something he had promised to but did so on the honor system...it was an exchange for something I promised to send him back -- and he sent his item to me first, trusting me to send my promised item to him.
I realize that to many here this may not be a big deal, but in the 20 plus years I have been collecting prop replicas, I'm not sure I can think of one instance where someone sent me something without payment up front -- or in the situation where we were swapping stuff with each other, that I didn't have to send my stuff first.
That's all I wanted to say...other than to clarify I am not suggesting that Matsuo or others send out their handiwork for free in hopes they'll be compensated fairly, but rather I just wanted to point out that good stuff can and does happen when dealing with other members of the RPF.
