This is thought to be a model part of the commander cupola (Italian pattern) for the American M4 Sherman tank equipped with a 75mm gun.
The scale is 1/35.
This is a model part made by Panzer Art.

Good guess. It's definitely a hatch / cupola of some sort. Not sure it's a Sherman. Sherman's tend to be more rounded. I didn't find it on Panzer Art. I think you're right that it's 1/35th scale. I think it's an injection molded part tho.
Well the hatch made a nice pivot base / access port for my crane / recovery vehicle. W.I.P. 1/48th scale. The aluminum tube pistons are .125" in diameter. .03 & .06 styrene. Mounting the base of the hydraulic pistons to the cylinder post is next and has me in a pause today.
