Kirk's Jacket?

Does anyone know if Kirk's leather jacket from Star Trek III was an existing jacket or made for the movie?

The suede bomber jacket didn't appear until ST IV, when Scotty wore one. Kirk's jacket in ST III was leather, and was an original design for the film.

Ah, yes. Brain fart. Although the bomber jacket did appear in Trek III. Kirk didn't wear it, very true - Admiral Morrow did, however.

D'oh. Of course he did... poor Scotty didn't get many chances to change clothes between ST:III and IV :lol

TRUE, but speaking of costume anomalies... look at CHEKOV carefully in Trek III... in the scene where they steal the Enterprise, he's wearing this ridiculous Peter Pan looking outfit, with a pink shirt, and a huge round collar.

Then suddenly in later scenes ("Send Captain Esteban my compliments."), Chekov has got a more reasonable looking jacket on. :lol

The story is that actor Walter Koenig complained about the silliness of his costume... and I suppose they WERE still on the Enterprise, so Chekov might have had a change of clothes in his quarters or something. :unsure

Which makes you wonder why Chekov was wearing it in the first place. He could have taken out the Bird of Prey by loading the collar into a torpedo tube and shooting at the Klingons. :lol
