Just purchased 1:1 Swimming Alien;)

G'day folks,

I just nabbed one from the vendor on Evilbay. Paid a little extra and he's going to assemble and paint ect. Now I saw from the EBay pics it looked awesome. It was cheap though. Anyone here got one? Or built one up from it's raw state? I'd love to see pics?

My worry with this kit is I never seen close ups.

TazVader - just make sure you do a showoff thread and dont take the pics witha mobile phone :lol

I owned it. If it was one of his older castings, it was pretty thin fiberglass prone to cracking & or smashing during shipping.
Jefferey is the artists name (right?)& the actual sculpt is pretty cool.
I know he uses a resin mix now.
overall it is a pretty good kit. enjoy

Acid thanks for chiming in mate. Yup...Jeffrey Teo is his name. He uses a rubber resin now...so he says. I am paying him to assemble and paint it to look like his pics so it better! LOL

It's just about to be cast this week apparently. I asked him for plenty of progress shots so I will post those if he gets time to send them LOL

He is a pleasant Individual to deal with and always answers promptly ect

I thought about just buying the 1:1 bust too....they look darn purdy. The funny thing is you are actually buying a 3D Aliens themed art poster in the auctions he runs. The 1:1 alien is the bonus, free gift LOL I guess it avoids some hassles with bored studio execs LOL

Look forward to seeing how this turns out. I really like his Slimer kit (though the painted version could be done better) and would love some info on the quality of his casts, etc to help me decide if it's worth ponying up the cash.

I went small and got his chestbuster, all painted etc. Just waiting on it to be shipped. Will let you know what the casting it like aswell. If he only did a head from Aliens....if only

Jeff Teo's a good guy ...

His 1:1 bust is the same head used on the swimming Alien. He just adds a different base.

Pat, I hear ya on the standing kit mate. i did ask, especially about an Alien standee....he doesn't have any plans to unless someone commisions it. I am planning to try and do it with a local guy with a 1:1 head kit as the base. I'll let you know how that goes LOL

I was sent these pics of an alien yesterday. This looks similiar as in the webbed feet. I wonder if it's based on his? The head certainly looks different. It was at a con last year in Australia

Well got it today, painted and such.

Casting: Theres a few holes and airbubbles other than that the kit is fine ( but i had hoped they would have filled it before painting..but for 25$ what can ya expect). Its a hollow cast aswell, was EXTREMELY well packaged, but if it fell it would shatter easily.

Paintjob: Good, better than i would have done but still for 25 cant expect much, a few specs of random paint on the edges not blended in at all etc. Will go over it with some washes and gloss myself at points.

I just checked the wholesale price on the standing Alien. It is $2850.

So that swimming Alien is seeming like a better deal more and more.
