Hey guys! I kinda would like to know if you have any info on any merchandise that can be seen in the movies. Some seem to be existing, some not. I made a screenshot of what I was interested in (I would avoid plush and shirts):

Do you see anything else from Jurassic Park?

And those are from JW:

I managed to find someone who was selling a screen used fan and a Isla Nublar pin:

I found the dinosaur hat and the diplodocus balloon:

Anyway, what do you guys think haha? :p

I like those balloons.

The Making of Jurassic Park is a real book, but the cover is much different, AFAIK.

Thanks :)

Do you have any ideas on the Jurassic Park thermo and lunchbox if the drawings are meant to exist? Or if it's been drawn especially for the movie?

The red and blue lunchboxes appear to be blank, with only a JP sticker on them. The lunch box with the green dino on it is, I suspect, a cheap generic child's lunch box with a smaller JP sticker slapped on it. You can see similarly styled art work on other products in the shots which do not have any JP branding. I'll have a little more information for you in an hour or so, I've got to run an errand.

Additionally, pretty sure those are plastic water bottles, not thermoses.

OT: There were, of course, real JP licensed lunchboxes with thermoses. I had one :) The thermos is somewhat infamous because they originally had mock biohazard labeling on them, a la the embryo chamber that Nedry enters. However, someone flipped out about the realistic warning labels, and the art was changed. The last biohazard thermoses came with dinosaur stickers to put over them, IIRC.

I suspect the shirts are actual licensed products made for the film. All licensed products would have been designed, approved and manufactured in advance, overseas, and then shipped to the US in time for the release of the film. Universal would likely have received physical samples of the products in advance of release for quality control reasons. It's possible that those shirts are those samples, shipped to the set for set decoration. They seem too complex to be quickie background set dressing. Note that the set has no hardware to hang the clothes on, they are simply hung crudely on the shelves. Possibly suggesting a last-minute addition or rearrangement.

Perhaps most suggestive of all is the copyright text in the bottom of the yellow border of the JP logo on the shirts. This is not present on the logo art used for the Jeep doors, for example.

I took a quick look on eBay, but didn't see any similar shirts.

Thanks everybody for you help, especially Mike ^^<

There is also this funny hand puppet made by Hasbro that appears in the movie:

Good eye! Never noticed that.

Surprised you didn't mention the dinosaur "grabber" toy / claw / puppet seen in the JW photo with the cups.

Depending on how accurate you want to be, it might be relatively cheap. Maybe repaint the handle?

I actually wasn't sure what it was! haha!!

I was wondering, how big do you guys think the pins are on the lanyard of the employees? And did anybody ever made the designs for it? I might have a go. It seems the pins are 1" in diameter, except maybe the one with the main logo that seems to be around 1.5"?

You never had one of those grabbers as a kid?

Does the lanyard guy on the left have a circular JW logo pattern tie as well?

The circular pins on the lanyard look to be about 1 inch or maybe larger. If the bagged one is anything to go by, then they are color prints on metal backs with domed epoxy over them.

Scaling the photo of the two guides based on the known size of the ID cards yields an approximate size of 33 to 34 mm in diameter for the circular pins on the lanyards.

Actually, the Jeep doors in the first film had little 'TM's on the logos. You can see them when they first get into the jeeps after arriving in the island...

I know they had TMs, but they did not have the string of copyright text inside the logo. I suspect this was mandated for actual licensed products by Universal.

Does anybody have closer pictures of the badges? I've been working on one and might consider making a run, but need a closer look of the other ones:

I have this, but it's probably the same thing you have. The other circular badge seems to have a Trike skull on it.

I have an idea of them, I'll give a shot, I think it's for the baby triceratops at the petting zoo :)

And every time I recall the petting zoo, I think of that one kid hugging the dinosaur a little too eagerly.
