Judge Dredd: What happened to all the costumes?

I've seen a few images of Stallone's Judge Dredd uniform and ONE other street Judge. But there had to have been at least a couple dozen uniforms made for the film. So my question is... Where are they?

What happened to Hershey's uniform? What happened to all the custom uniform badges with different names? There were at least 3-5 other judges that had named badges, or at least, ones you could almost make out due to the poor quality DVD encoding.

So where did they all end up? Were there any "big" aution listings with groups of lots? Are they sitting in a warehouse someplace like Reelclothes has Starship Troopers uniforms?

Does anyone have any photos of them (or other Dredd costumes) from perhaps places like Planet Hollywood?

Thanks,

Russ

That's the one, sir!

There was also a McBayne (or something), Hershey, Brisco and more that had the black lettered badges. *Wishes he had a copy of the film in HD*

Sorry, no idea where they may now be. They were on tour in all the Planet Hollywood's back then and I have a ton of photos 'somewhere' of the Stallone suit and bike...tonnes.

The only other thing I can add is I know G. Versace was friends with Stallone, and that Gianni loved working in all aspects of artistic expression. Movies, theater and of course fashion which is where he really made a name for himself. He was highly respected as a creative influence, and a great human being. I wish I would have talked to him about his design work for the Dredd film. It was just something that never came up in conversation...unfortunately.

Photos are always welcome. Thanks!

Just curious...

I know Versace was credited as being a designer on the film, but the
design sketch of the proposed Judge uniform is considerabley different
than what we finally see on screen.

Did somone else do the actual designing?

I did some work up at ellstree a good few years ago, and a company called weird and wonderfull had a lot of dread stuff, costumes etc as well as the ABC robot, they certainly had a load of stuff there.
Weapons etc

Two street judge stunt costumes sold on Profiles in History/eBay Live this morning. The male costume sold for US$ 3250 and the female costume went for US$ 2750. I would have loved to have bid on them, but my maximum (given the exchange rate, the 20% premium, the shipping and the high risk of a further 20% or so in customs duty) was closer to US$ 2000. Note the extra padding under the shoulder armour and the toe shields. The badge names are Black and Rowe. I reckon the toe shields must be for a specific stunt. Maybe a bike crash or something. The extra padding is removable.

Sorry if this sounds a bit like - a bloke down the pub told me this story and it is definietely true story but........ :lol

I have a friend who has a friend who was working on another production at the same time as Dredd was being made and I swear he told me his friend was a big Dredd fan and 'borrowed' / rescued the mould for the ABC warrior from a skip and still has it. Not sure if it was just the head. The same source has turned up some amazing props for me in the past so I don't doubt the story. I just don't know if the said mould is still in this persons hands or if it is in any kind of decent shape anymore.

I was told this story a few years ago so I will try to confirm it again by giving my friend a shout.

Cheers Chris

Is that black armor the same as the Judge Hunter's armor?

Kind of an oddball combination.

Were there any additional pictures?

Russ

I bid on that auction. But due to timefram difference i could not follow it to the end.

You can see the judge hunter eagle on the female costume, so either these street judges wore judge hunter armour as additional protection for a particular stunt, or the judge hunter armour has been accidentally added to the street judge costume. The toe shields suggest to me that it could be the former.

Maybe these actors had double roles? Armor got tossed in a box, minus helmets?

I see the eagle now, cheers.

Kewl to get a bonus armor with this, lucky guy!
