Juan's 1:1 ESB Darth Vader

Such excellent sources. Wow. That Elstree armor is really beautiful.
Curious, that chest box - I didn't notice at first but I think I know the original (or maybe that's it) version of it super well!

Ah yes! I know exactly which chest box you are thinking of. The one in my hand is an offspring of that specific box. The one on the mannequin however comes from a similar source but I modified it to have aluminum rods.

BTW: I know exactly why you though the one on the mannequin was the other casting. ;) Good eye my friend!

Thanks guys!

Its honestly never ending and little adjustments make a big difference. The more I looked at these images the more I felt there was something to be adjusted and I realized the helmet height needed to be a little taller. I added some foam to the top of the mannequin head and now its looking a lot better:

Thanks! The parts are:

Helmet: TM
Armor : Elstree
Chest box: Cast from original
Belt: boxes made by me, leather and buckle by Enes
Cod: Enes
Suit: 3 piece premium from Custom Props
Gloves: Fenix
Capes and robes: premium wool from Custom Props
Shins: vacuformed Korobanth
Boots: real german riding boots
Saber: Master Replicas

Even though I have my own Vader I will say this any way....I'm envious of your Vader. I'm always hard on my own Vader and feel other people with accurate set ups will always be better.

I'm jealous you got an Enes Cod before he stopped making them. I feel they are more accurate then Dougs. I did manage to get Doug's cod before he quit. He did improve on his cod from earlier years.

Judging by your level of desired accuracy according to your helmet positioning update I will say this. The Pattern Custom props uses for their cape is 3/4 circle which is to full. None of the ot capes were 3/4. They ranged from 1/2 to 220° of a circle. I know for sure the yoke cape from ESB is 1/2 circle. But I think the other capes were 220° just like ROTJ(certain on that) with only 3 panels.

Unless you modified their pattern then ignore me!

I do know your pleats are Rotj style with the folds running between belt and armor. ESB pleats are stitched closed from belt to mid chest box with folds fading out towards the armor.

But that's not knocking on the hard beautiful work you put into him!

Thats a sharp eye you got there! The capes I currently have on have been customized a bit to further acurize the look, and you are right about the robes. However I am next in line for a set of Kev's cape set, which will address these details ( literaly got a message from him today about being in the next batch).

Thank you for your kind words, but you have nothing to be jealous about! Your ROTJ looks amazing. :)

Thank you!

While Kevs are a step up(my cape is a Kev), he managed to match the original wool and poly liner, it's not with out flaws. His set though are the best on the market. One fixable flaw imo that he can fix is that he folds the wool in to hide the edge of the liner. The screen capes just have the edges sewn together and that's it.

The 220°, EDIT: meant to say 3, panels isn't doable with 60" wide material so he compromised with 1/2 4 panel pattern. His capes are the heaviest I've ever held. The first thing I noticed was the weight. I was on the phone with my friend when I unboxed them. I had to get off the phone because I no longer wanted to hold them! When in costume I have to let the cape drop to the floor. I can't get the armor off any other way. I cracked my Stone armor trying to lift the armor over my head with the cape on it.

Yeah, parts with lineage will drive the cost up rather quickly. Half the cost of mine is on helmet, chest armor and chest box.

You are right! It's my cfo helmet that put me over 5000. That estimate even included my Shadow Fx helmet :0. Lineage costs money.

Naahhh its cool! :)

At this point I could careless who did what to who, nearly everyone has a history to a degree and nearly all helmets are a recast to a degree. If they provide me a product I'm happy with I honestly couldnt care. That's what Shadow FX did. And honestly was the smoothest transaction I ever had in the unlicensed community.

That's not to put a downer on people who feel other wise. There are legit reasons to have ill feelings like if one was personally screwed over.

Ok, lets please not discuss that on this thread
