Joker -The Dark Knight HELP..?!

Hey guys,

I've finally decided on a costume for the Halloween Party my girlfriend and I are hosting this year and will be the Joker.. As I'm a bit obsessive and a perfectionist, I need my costume to be as screen accurate as possible and will be working on my Joker performance for the next few months..

What I need your help with is...

Costume advice and recommendations...

I'm looking for a very close replica but without going into the thousands (I would have no problem with it, but would probably end up single if I went all out on a Joker costume.. lol).. I've been looking at 'HelloCosplay's' website and they seem to have some reasonably priced Joker costumes that appear to be fairly close and aren't too expensive but was wondering if anyone has any experience with them or any other that they'd recommend or that I should steer clear of..

Scaring and makeup...

At first I was looking at creating the scaring myself but have decided to go with prosthetics as Heath did in the movie and was wondering if anyone has been deemed the KING of Joker scars.. Like where is THE BEST place to get them for realism..? Also, if anyone has any makeup recommendations, tips or ideas I'm more than willing to give them a try..

Joker makeup scenes...

Does anyone know if there's any makeup 'behind the scenes' clips of Ledger getting made up to be the Joker..?

Any help, tips or advice that anyone can share would be REALLY, REALLY appreciated..

Thanks guys, I look forward to hearing from you..

James

There's actually a thread dedictated to this very subject - search for it and you'll find a wealth of information there.

If you want ultimate accuracy, you're going to need to get most of your costume from Magnoli. There are a couple of pieces like the shirt and gray blazer that you don't have to spend that much on, but the pants, tie, vest, shoes and gloves almost certainly need to be purchased from him. The purple overcoat is something you'll find a lot of opinions on. I got mine from an RPF member who had his custom made by Baron Boutique and it's probably one of the best replica overcoats you're ever going to see. You can get by with spending less on all these items, but it just depends on how accurate you want the costume to be.
