Nice.....Your foam is softer..... I still have ridges where I made the cuts...I need to get better at making it rounder....

Yes, mine is really soft, except for the crest, I made that one with a harder foam!

Re: FOAM speed building files ►Freedom & Landmate Gundams◄ in progress...

Thanks bill, I think leaving the card glued to the foam stiffens it up quite a bit, which sometimes helped and sometimes not. I think just using 80g paper would have been better for this purpose, keeping the stiffer card for templates

Re: FOAM speed building files ►Freedom & Landmate Gundams◄ in progress...

with the gundam files you say enough to make a bust so I presume they are sized for that purpose not for making into a costume JF?

I think the files are for costumes.

Re: FOAM speed building files ►Freedom & Landmate Gundams◄ in progress...

I talked about a bust, because I assume nobody would wear a gundam suit with no arms no butt and no legs...
About the size, for now files are randomly scaled. Let me check that...

Ok, so with its current ratio set at 300 this freedom bust would go to a 5'3" or 5'5" boy/girl.
At the end and for these same files, the scale factor should be raised up to 330 for a common 6' tall guy.

The landmate files are set to 70, that is already scaled for a 6' user.

Clever question ;)
Who here would have inquired too late about that ? Mmh ?

Re: FOAM speed building files ►Freedom & Landmate Gundams◄ in progress...

Lol JF well I thought it be wise to ask before I start to try and build it other wise might be a bit disappointed if all I ended up with as a statue for my desk lol ;)

Durkness that awesome did you do that the last couple of days?

Re: FOAM speed building files ►Freedom & Landmate Gundams◄ in progress...

The previous color scheme was pink, purple and red... So before sharing it I pasted the color set of Durkness's build to seem more serious. :$

I got to that point recently... I started it 10 days ago...but, I am working on my Iron Bat and made the Dr. Fate helmet during the same time frame with little time to work on stuff. I don't settle very well on projects. The file doesn't have any details so it was more of a test run to see if it's capable of being something more, which it is.

My wife tried the helmet on after it was painted.... I should have left it your original color scheme.... :D Thank you sir for the file. It has easily become one of my favorite helmets and it's not done yet....

Re: FOAM speed building files ►Freedom & Landmate Gundams◄ in progress...

Has anyone ever put the fiberglass cloth and resin on the inside of it foam helmet. Would the resin melt the foam?

Re: FOAM speed building files ►Freedom & Landmate Gundams◄ in progress...

Soooo, I've just been kind of asking around for this, but what are the odds that you would do a foam pep file for the Juggernaut mask from DotA?
