Jack Sparrow Sash - How to tie properly?

Silly question I know, but anyone here know how to tie this thing so it has that trademark loop like Jack's? I know it's probably easier than I'm making it, but who knows.

Thanks!! You're a life-saver! I am wearing my costume tomorrow for the first time, and somehow, this one stumped the heck out of me! I will post pics sometime next week. Here are a couple pics I took along the way. One is me with only the dreads sewn in, no trimming. The other is my wig finalized. Enjoy!

Looking good, mate! I'll be wearing my Sparrow for the first time tomorrow as well. I'll get some pics to share. For the sash, I actually had to use two strands of sash material. One I tied and pinned around my waist. The second one I use to create the loop and hang it from the waist sash itself (Covers the pin). Unfortunately, I'm a little tall to make a great Sparrow and need to have the two sash pieces because of my height. It looks good all the same, however.
