Jabba's hookah

And here's the other mini project I'm tackling...the Hutt hookah. Such a great touch having him puffing away on this thing like some imperious sultan.

Modelled everything in Blender and 3D printed it all. It's quite big when u scale it because he's so huge.



Painted it all gold and black washed it. Inserted a metal bar with power for the humidifier running thru

Found a perspex sphere for the top tank which will have smoke and greenish liquid in

As I couldn't find an extended perspex hemisphere the right size for the bottom tank, u can see I printed a former to vac-form one



And of course the extra delight of what the mighty Jabba eats...namely a Klatooine paddy frog. There will be 3 of these cast and painted up in silicone to swim around in the tank

OK...more done on the Hookah

Vac-formed the lower tank and fitted it into the elliptical bottom ring. Also fitted a clear acrylic pipe to vent the smoke thru the liquid

Riveted the two sections together and filled and painted the seam. Added all the domed nail strips around the globe collar. Filled the bottom tank with green fluid and dunked the frogs in. Got the top pipe section fixed on and filled the top tank. The smoke does come out of the mouthpiece so I scented the humidifier with turmeric to give a spicy aroma to Jabba's palace

Still needs a few tweaks to get it perfect. Will start on the Balustade section to support it. With all the liquid in both tanks it does weigh quite a bit
