Hi only just found and read this thread! I really hope it is sorted for you now! But like others has said until you have it in your hands and your happy with it! Then it's not resolved:) keep us all posted! Hopefully you can post some nice pics of you prop in a week or so :) all the best :)

Is the tracking number legit?

As others have said its not over until item that you paid for is in hand.

A simple pm on here would have been very easy and undetectable by the banks.

Keep on top of that tracking number and good luck

So far the tracking shows that it was accepting in Germany (where he had planned to ship from).

I remember years ago here someone shipped the prop, when the package was opened it was empty, hopefully this will NOT be the case here

Banks are acting pretty ridiculously these days. For instance: I went to go deposit some money into my daughter's bank account at Chase Bank for her birthday, and they wouldn't take it because it was cash. I asked why, and they said to protect against money laundering. It was only $50, so I asked if there was a threshold below which you could deposit cash, and I was told "No, they will not accept any cash if it is not my account." So even if gramps wanted to drop a dollar into her account it would be refused. Stupid!

Okay, if somehow the rules are different in other countries, you might somehow (just saying) have the money from customers going straight to your bank instead of to your PayPal account first....in which case the bank could take some action against possible FRAUD.

But (and this HAS happened to ME) the bank called me and asked me if the transaction was valid and I said, Yes. And they unfroze my account immediately.

This did not take a month. This took 2 minutes. The money was still processed through PayPal....that really shouldn't throw up any red flags the size of Texas. If it came from a random account in the Bahamas, sure. But PayPal ?????

Giving the seller some credit, I'm going to guess that he will send you the item....but the story is just a story. You can't actually PROVE he's lying. We (here in the USA) just can't imagine how he could possibly be telling the truth.

Matt was right to open this topic here, I would have done the same!
That said, he is the only one to have a legit right to call me out here!
Sad to see the RPF becoming a place where trolls can openly attack members.
This is a private deal, outside the RPF, I do not post a lot here, and I do NOT trade here since the new regulations are installed!
Thanks for the commentators who shared their problems with financial institutes here, I thought I was the only one having this nightmare.
NOBODY of the commentators had a bad deal with me, some are only posting their negative opinions with no value.
Matt clearly said that he believed that he lost his money and he had every right to do so after the very unfortunate circumstances!
He did not said he actually lost money!
I only post this comment to show my respect to Matt.

Well I agree that attacking members should not be tolerated but do not forget that the original post was "I think I got burned by a member here..."

So that post opened the discussion for all members to chime in and make their comments, complaints, suggestions or help the buyer of the prop replica with his/her options, either informally or legally, to resolve his/her issues.

I look at the RPF as a family and have met many friends here. This is why I offer my legal services to members if they believe they have been ripped off by any company or member. I have helped several members get their issues resolved with ANOVOS.

I do this because I have lost thousands of dollars to scammers and thieves on and off this board and do not like my friends being taken advantage of by anyone.

So whether this transaction took place on or off this board is irrelevant to the facts and issues and should always be opened up for discussions especially when the buyer originally requested our help.

Just my two cents and I hope everything goes smoothly and resolved to both parties satisfaction.

Only by open discussion do we find out that you might be told by your bank not to communicate with the buyer. If a seller does not respond in a reasonable amount of time to the buyer about possible lost money, they may get banned. But if, as you say, they are TOLD not to respond....then they might get un-banned.

The information in your exact case is unlike previous issues here on this board. Only by many people getting involved does this information get known to the community.

OK there is a positive ending to this story. My batarang arrived safely and @Phantombatman included a few extras in the package. The batarang has exceeded my expectations (even though it took a lot to receive). The craftsmanship is impeccable and it's so heavy, much more than I thought it would be.

So the lesson I learned here is always choose to pay someone through goods or services on PayPal. I had a false belief that the fees were crazy (because I've seen quite a few people request to be paid as friends & family). I didn't realize it's only a small percentage.
