Is your favorite TV show canceled?

There was also the daughter in Til Death. 4 different actresses played the part. It even became a running joke in the show.

Well, LMS premiered on Fox and... I hope they got all the self aware references out of their system in the first episode. The new Boyd really didn't make any difference to me, but I can definitively say I do not like the new Mandy. Molly Ephraim defined that character and I really don't think anyone can do it justice. Well, at least not who they cast. She may be a fine actress otherwise (?) but she's just not the Mandy I want.

That opening scene was great though. The new Mandy is Laurette Spang's daughter. It can't be easy stepping into someone else's role after six seasons, let's give her time to fit in.

I see this thread is about cancelled shows?

Yes—I was talking to a friend and just found out that NBC canceled “Star Trek”. Well, we’ll never see those characters again. I’m going to log off and cry gently into my pillow.

And what’s this rumor I keep hearing about having gone to the moon?? What other news have I been missing out on?

I think the self referencing and the politics was all laid on a bit thick. It would've been better to just run the Mandy joke as a Kyle thing. I hope they just wanted to get it all out in one go, like a "look, we're gonna be business as usual" statement.

New Mandy, not buying it just yet, it was the valley girl tone of voice that she kept slipping into put me off. I think she can turn it round, but its not a deal breaker if she doesn't, every character is good here so I imagine it will work out.

I wish they would bring back Drew Carey

That would be cool, but what could they really do? In the final episode, didn't they establish that Drew ended up almost exactly where he started. Well, apart from being married and having a new kid. But wouldn't that interfere with the whole "lovable loser" concept of the show? Don't get me wrong, I still like watching the reruns on LAFF, and I'd watch new episodes if they made them, but the possibilities seem somewhat limited.

I also wonder about the amount of interest. While it was well rated during it's run, only the first season and a six episode highlight disc has ever been released on DVD.

BTW, the safety video from "Drew Blows His Promotion" still has the funniest five minutes in TV history.

It's been mentioned here already, but I have to say I hated to see "Timeless" get cancelled. I just finished up season 2 on DVD via Netflix, and was instantly bummed after the final cliffhanger scene, knowing there may be no wrap up. I hope they go with the 2 hour movie that has been mentioned as a possibility. It needs an ending.

I seem to notice that if I like a show, it won't last. I bought Tostito's Rolls chips, and suddenly they stopped selling them. I'm bad luck for shows and snack food!!! :(

Hey TD,

I agree... I think the show played itself out. I just miss the entire ensemble. The banter between Drew and Mimi, the hi-jinx with Lewis and Oswald is still fresh and just as funny! The entire cast was gold and you could see they genuinely had fun!

From what I understand, there are MAJOR problems with having to monetarily credit all the different musicians / bands / songs that were used throughout the series. I dont think we'll ever see the complete series on DVD.

My favorite episode(s) is the 2 part "A House Divided". PURE GOLD! When Ms Lauder asks Drew to sign the contract to agree to sell his house Ms Lauder says something like "put your signature here and we'll bring out the Pinata!!!!" Drew says... "...Pinata is nice but I sit in front of one all day long..."

BUT

One of my favorite lines between Drew & Mimi:

Drew: (motioning Mimi to move out of the way) Move it, Clowncar!

Mimi: Shove it, Loadsmobile!

:)

Hell he ain't gonna give up a juicy gig like hosting the Price is RIght. He is set for life.

What would be great is if the original cast showed up and pretended to be audience members. Can you imagine Oswald and Lewis during the "Showcase Showdown"?

I know Kathy Kinney appeared once or twice.

Agreed. I wasnt buying it.

I was upset when “revolution” was canceled.. granted season 2 was complete trash.. expect the very last episode of season 2... which could have really turned things around in season 3...

But it got canceled

Then I got booked on “wayward pines” again, first season was amazing, then the second season was complete trash... so I don’t blame them..

Really like these two shows then never got to get rolling...

Add the Punisher and Jessica Jones to the list

This isn't Netflix, it's Disney and Netflix must be getting paid to take the heat for it.

Netflix dropped them because Disney is taking all of Disney's content for their own streaming service and Netflix doesn't want to be lining Disney's pockets.
