is there any way to unlock a locked pepakura file

hey guys i have a costume idea and i have the model to make it from pepakura but the problem is i need to do some serious scaling and editing. the second problem is the file appears to be locked iv seen some people using 3d converter software to convert the files to something else then back to be able to edit them is there any way i can make it so i can edit this file please help

if ur only using the basic free version,u cant, u have to pay for the designer version, if u do have that then i have no idea y that is

you shouldn't even be doing that to a pepakura file without permission from the modeller. Hence the reason why it might be locked.

I am working with a friend who BOUGHT a PEP file from PropZone and it is locked. We have no idea how to scale it now, or change paper size, etc. If you bought the file, are you not entitled to an unlocked version?

No. I bought a file that was locked too. A mk 33 helmet. Was very disappointed, as it was advertised differently. It was just a simple mistake, though, and the guy made sure to state that they are locked for future buyers.

But, no. Your not entitled to an unlocked one. But modelers who sell files need to state whether they are locked or not.

tbh if you buy a file it should come unlocked, as you allmost certainly need to resize it. maybe not so much for helmets, but for everything else, guaranteed. so if i pay for a file, that is of no use for me cause i cant adjust it to the size i need, its effectively useless.

As a 3D modeler, I think they are just protecting their work. If you need it resized, email them and ask them to do it.
