Is it possible to seal latex?

Is it possible to seal latex to protect those with a latex allergy? I'm looking to make a mermaid tail out of latex, but someone brought up the concern of allergies for others. The tail will be worn to a renaissance faire, so there's a high chance of multiple people coming in contact with it (especially children). I know a silicone tail would be safer, but I don't think I have the time to do the silicone construction method considering this would be my first time working with it.

Hm, I don't think it's possible to seal latex in the way you're thinking, no. You can paint over it with PAX or something, but the allergy issue would still have every possibility of popping up. Sorry, I dunno that there's a great answer!
