Ironman See-Through Eyes

So, I've been doing a lot of scouring these boards and I'm left with a question.

Is there anyone who makes light-up eyes that you can actually see through?

I'm not sure what to think about the small slit. I normally costume as Vader, so the visibility is limited, but I can only imagine how bad it is with a little tiny slit to see through.

I saw a build by X-Robots for see-through LED eyes, but he didn't respond to my PM, I'm sure he gets a ton of jokers messaging him with all of the tech he is putting together.

I also read a quip about Surreal Studios doing lenses but haven't seen anything posted. I have an email out to Ryan @ surreal, maybe he will answer all my questions, but maybe someone else knows some information that can help me on my way forward!

Thanks!

Yes, those are one of the eyes I'd like to look into.

My real question is over time, does looking through the lighted sheet hurt your eyes or give you headaches, or something along these lines. I'm looking to be wearing this for hours at a time, so was wondering some longer term effects of looking through a lit glass.

I know the light is reflected off the outside, but it would still be brighter on your eyes?

If you place your light source deeper in the eyebrow, you will have less light going in. But the brightness will suffer a bit. Placing the light source at an angle towards outside is also helpful. However, even without these mods, a very small percentage that will go thru your eyes

This is another post along the lines you're thinking about I believe.

One way that I'm thinking about doing the eyes is to get a cheap pair of sunglasses with a blue lens, then put blue led lights along the top and bottom. Then angle the lights to the blue lens. Perhaps put the lights behind some kind of a clear plastic or something to diffuse the light a little. But it's all just in concept right now. I haven't even gotten to the stage where I'm ready to even do anything with the lights.

It is where I got the idea but he's not selling/working on the see through eyes. I asked him about it and he said they were to difficult to produce. That's why I decided to give it a go on my own.

I know a couple people have done the sunglasses style and seem happy with them - they used mirrored lens (think aviators) instead of blue tinted ones.

I've just purchased a £50 pair of video glasses and an £8 reverse parking camera from Ebay for mine, so I can make my MK7 eyes really bright.
