Hey guys, Im new to the RPF, but I have been watching peoples works like that inspired me to do my own Iron man suit. I started with a War machine using pepakura with resin and bondo...did not turn out well (perhaps it was my first time or it was a rushed project for halloween???). So with my Iron man suit, I have a lot of time to "perfect" it before next halloween, as well as joining the RPF for yours guys advice.

Heres my Iron man helmet using Sharks pep files.

Sorry i was editing it lol, The helmet has been completely resined. probably gonna do one more coat when the weather turns up here. I was thinking of using Air dry clay on the helmet only instead of Bondo this time. I just don't know whats the best brand to go with. i know theres a air dry crayola but i think nobody is using that...aha

Don't know what you are complaining about. The pep doesn't look too bad and with lots of work and some elbow grease it will look fine. People seem to think that to get the perfect helmet you need to have a perfect PEP. But most of the hard work comes from doing the resin/bondo process.

A few tips

1. Have a lot of patience and do not rush it. Some people take forever to finish a complete suit (Sometimes even over a year)
2. Get some reference pictures so when you get to the sanding/detailing process you have something to work with.
3. Have a look at previous builds from others. This can give great inspiration to you to keep up with your build!

One last thing.

WELCOME TO theRPF!

haha thanks for the welcoming! oh i dont think there's nothing wrong with the helmet i'm debating whether to use clay or bondo. im leaning more towards clay because i hate the smell of the bondo plus its so cold where im living right now; can't even step outside to work on it. =( just wondering what kind of clay i can use for the detail. then probably perhaps add some smooth-on inside to reinforce it?

Awesome Job on the Helmet.
You make me want to do mine over with that file. lol...damnit..

I think I have to now.
