Any body ever thought about making a vacuformed Iron man helmet? I think it could be done if you did the face plate, top sides back, and bottom of the helmet pieces separate.

Has anyone identified what the little paralyzing gadget that "the dude" uses on tony?
the ones with the little glowing earbuds?

Im sure it could be done but i don't think it would look that great, you can't get the sharp detail and lines from vacforming that you get from resin or fibreglass.

Actually, if you made the bucks (patterns, molds, whatever you prefer to call them) concave instead of convex, all of the sharp detail would be retained in the plastic. Not to say it would be easy, but it can be done.

Except the mold would have to be riddled with holes to get enough suction to pull the plastic into every area, it's just not a sensible solution especially on a home rig.

Re: Iron man prop request?

well I suppose if you were doing the Mark II, you make the rivets actual holes in the main pull so they can be your holes for suction. and then you put seperate pieces over those.

Re: Iron man prop request?

HMM! Ill have to go back and watch the movie to get a clear shot as to what it really looks like but that might be it! what about light up earbuds?

The Mark 2 armor did not have rivets going outwards.
They drilled holes in the armor, it saved them time overall, but you get the visuall ilution its rivets.

We followed the same tecnic when we made this Mark 2.

there is actually a guy on ebay who sells a vac formed Ironman helmet with a latex neck seal, its about $350, a bit high, and it's not super accurate either. He goes by AsylumXXX I think. I just search Ironman Helmet

Re: Iron man prop request?

No success, Im working on a wearable kroenen hand along with my helmet at the moment.

Have we still confirmed that the device is an mp3 player? I'm having trouble finding any pics of that model now in order to compare.

I am not even sure that it is a found item. I've been looking through hundreds of mp3 player pictures... :wacko

Could be some kind of cable remote control or kids spy gear...

I know what that is! Kind of. its a plastic case. Ive seen them before but will have to remember where and what it was.
