Iron Man Movie Helmets (All Versions now Available!)

All three versions of the helmet are now available at Sideshow... and they look even worse in the larger photos than they did in the tiny ones on Museum Replicas site.

Wow! You are right. The Mark III looks terrible. With the blacked out jaw segment and the huge gaps between the mouth sections.

BAH!

Somebody would be better off buying the sideshow 1:1 bust which came from the real molds and re-casting it as a wearable helmet. :love

OMG! They are horrific! They just look a mess.

The Bust is too expensive for me, so I'd decided to get one of these instead, but after seeing these photos, I might just pass up on them.

Even the MK2 looks bad in these new photos and that's supposed to look a bit rough! :cry

Guys, I am sorry to say but I really dont like these either. For this kinda cash, my recomendation would be to buy a fan made helmet from some of the builders on here. For the price you could get the versions put out by say somone like Weaslflinger or Fettster and have cash left over to get them pro painted at a bodyshop. Would still likly be less cash out put.

I had high hopes for these once I heard they were being made, but I do not think they do the helmets justice. Granted the Mark I is okay, the others .....nope..... Each to their own, but they wont be ( sideshow) getting my money but I do know they will get it from a lot of others. I am sure Sideshow is going to be hurt by me not buying:rolleyes:lol

If I did not know there were better fan made helmets out there, then what the hell, I would grab 1-2 of these. But knowing there is better, from people who are not pros.....well.......nuff said. :rolleyes

My 2 cents.

Don't mix Sideshow with Museum Replicas. Sideshow has their own bust taken from the Stan Winston molds. The Museum Replica helmets are not made by Sideshow, only sold on their website. I don't think Sideshow really makes any more money than an average retailer when selling those Museum Replicas stuff.

Sorry, My Bad, posted the wrong name to the builder. The rest of my comment stands though.

Although yes, the sideshow Iron Man 1-1 bust, that is kickass. :thumbsup

Wow, I can't believe how bad those are. I was hoping they would turn out nice, considering they are metal. If they made an accurate metal helmet I would pay 3x the asking price of these horrid things. :thumbsdown

I am to supriced that they manage to get it this wrong... Well its ironic that the fans tend to get it far more right than these companies.

I finally got to see more photos of these on Ebay. Those helmets look like a down-sydnrome version of IronMan. The eyes are huge and all those ugly open gaps!
I'm sorry, but the fact that they are metal does not in any way make the design a viable purchase for fans.
When master replicas did thier metal Rocketeer helmet, there were some shaping issues, but nothing CLOSE the the problems with these helmets. YUK!

The sad thing is, a lot of people on the non prop related forums seem to think the Meuseum Replicas helmets are incredible!!

I know. The people on the Sideshow Collectors forum are going ga-ga over them. It's just scary.

I agree for the Mark 03, the fan's versions are far superior than what Museum Replicas/Windlass is offering but thats where it ends. I ordered the Mark 02 because nothing has been done in that vein yet. All the inverted pieces, the rivets, none of that is seen on the customs because it isn't on the Mark 03 and that's where the focus has been. The Mark 02 is more than just a paint apps issue and while Windlass doesn't have even that 100% its still the only Mark 02 offered either here or professionally. I have yet to see a Mark 01 tackled custom wise yet.

I wouldn't exactly call it Ga-Ga....many went nuts, myself included when they were announced and then had the air removed from their tires once they actually previewed. The reception of these pieces is very luke-warm....

Fair enough. Still, some seem far more excited than I would expect after having seen the pictures.
