Iron Man Movie Helmets (All Versions now Available!)

This is just a damn shame.

The MK1 is equally inaccurate:

Too elongated / long of chin - Leno Man?

I'd love to know what Windlass Studios borrowed the original Stan Winston props for.........because it certainly wasnt for taking measurements!!

I just hope these are the Prototypes!!!!

And theres alot of detail missint from the surface, they made it almost perfectly smooth, has no dents, scratches etc that make the original cool.

*****, on top of everything else that is totally wrong with this thing (especially the eyes), those simulated welds on the Mark 1 are simply brutal. My 3 year old niece could do better with a hot glue gun and a can of silver spray paint.

:(

I guess it's to be expected from a company with the word "ass" right there in the name.

;)

Passing on all of these as well....the inaccuracies pointed out are too much to just ignore especially at that pricepoint. I guarantee with the loss of a good licensed replica, we'll see much better customs start hitting the market and probably here too.....even though they already have. :D

heres a comparison between the windlass one, original and mine.

again, please forgive the different photo angles but whose do you think is closer?

There is only one kind of person who will shell out over four hundred dollars for a replica IronMan helmet - people whom are extremely serious collectors of movie prop replicas - but herin lies the paradox, because ANY movie prop collector who is serious about thier hobby will only demand 100% accuracy from 'licensed' prop replicas.
Based on the photos of the Windl-ASS studios products, it appears as though they had a great idea, a great license but a poor excecution of said license.
I was very excited to have one of these helmets until the differences were pointed out. Even a prototype should have the same shape as the final version - these helmets look like expensive pieces of metal that somewhat resemble the movie helmets.
Windl-ASS studios needs to get thier heads out of thier asses and quit ****ing around with collectors and bring something to the table that the fans actually WANT to buy.
I think it's sad that a lone collector was able to hand make from scratch an accurate IronMan movie helmet with nothing but pictures, yet this company with a frickin' LICENSE and access to the original props has the audacity to offer very innacurate replicas at a very high price.
Of course, these could be poor prototype images - and if so - shame on them for using crappy prototype versions as thier sales photographs.
It's crap like this that practically BEGS independent prop artists to make and sell unlicensed prop replicas.
There. Got that off my chest. Anyone give me a Hell Yeah!?:angry

Hell yeah! ;)

Perhaps the worst part of this is what it implies for their upcoming SW lines...

To add insult to injury - the scaled version of the Mark I from SS looks better than the full size one:

I guess I am not sure why you guys are so surprised. Windlass has never been known for RPF-level detail and accuracy. Not sure why anyone would think this line would be any different.
