Iron Man Helmet

Hi all

some of you may know that a while ago, I made a Iron man helmet.

It was sculpted before the side show pics were available and without being too bigheadded, i think i did an ok job.

heres the pics of the full finished helmet with light up eyes.

El Tape ? Idid not know you could get EL tape that was transparent. Maybe I am thinking of something else ???? :wacko

Also what did you do for wiring it up, it take a 12 volt charge or something, again if I recall correct ? Most of what I have seen the last while for El Tape was for computer mods and so was designed to fit into a computers power source.

Again I could be way off base ? Any more info would be great guys.

The tape is not transparent. What you do is mount it in the middle and have openings above and below so you can see.

thanks for the kind words.

to answer a couple of questions, the gold isnt painted, the helmet was cast with a high concentration of brass powder, then sanded to get the result.

Im afraid i cannot take any pics of the inside of the helmet as its already on its way to its new owner, maybe they will chime in when it arives.

Hey Fettster, can you confirm for us that this was EL wire / tape and as to how you were able t ostill see out of it ?

If you allow me mr fettster.
From what i understood he used EL tape. This is not transparent.
What he have done is that there is a mesh on top of the tape and bottom of the tape. This is where you can se trought. This way you can se above and bellow the tape. You will probalby not se the eyes because of the light and the mesh.

Very similar to how they done allot of mascots and so on.
